Do not count your score in competition

Several times I heard this phrase as counsel to avoid pressure on the course. This is one of the worst advice to give!

1. Do not take your brain for a trumpet!

What is the goal of the game of golf? Make as few strokes as possible. Therefore, the objective is connected to the score. Your mind knows it consciously or subconsciously, you think! Your mind is there to give you directions, so if the score is an important goal, he will direct your thoughts to it.

2. Take care of the case and not the consequences!

We know the consequences of too much thinking to the score: pressure, stress, loss of confidence.
But what are the causes? Have you ever asked? I’m sure you will, and I am also certain that you have the answer!

3. Formulate your goals positively!

“Do not think about the score! ”
“Ok, fine, but I think what then? ”
Stop setting goals avoidance!
Objectives with “not”, are objectives of avoidance!
A goal is made to be reached rather avoid!
Ask yourself what you want rather than what you do not!

So concretely, how?

Take a pencil and paper and note the points most important to you in golf.
Ex: The score, walking in nature, competition with oneself, the feeling of swing, play with friends …

Now close your eyes and visualize yourself on the course with a focus on each point one after the other. Take time to see you as if you were in your body to feel sensations. Play a few balls and then change your attention to another point that you previously defined.
In viewing what you feel most comfortable with?
How important this match?
You can also try directly on the course!
Now, for the next competition, focus your attention on this important point in all the course.

Conclusion
If the score bothers you, make a habit of giving another direction to your thoughts. Direct them to a point that is important for you and concentrate on it!

5 Steps to Develop the Perfect Putt

5 Steps to Develop the Perfect PuttWe may consider putting such a stake in a game because the skills to be a good putter are different from those required for the remainder of the game studies show that putting accounts for 43% of strokes played on a course.

It is therefore essential to involve you in putting if you want to see your handicap drop.
So be sure to master these 5 steps:

GOLF LESSONS – achieving the perfect putt:

1. The position

Position yourself so that your eyes are above the line of putt. To ensure this, hold your putter with a slight pressure directly below the eyes and see the club head, it must cover the ball. Then let gravity bring it to the ground. After landing, keep his head above the ball! The ball should be positioned slightly to the front foot and your hands should be well forward. Align the shaft with your left forearm, and you will be in place.

To fully ensure that your eyes are over the ball at address, take a second shot, put the level of your eyes and let it (See photo at left of the text). If your ball lands on the ground, your head is positioned over your ball. You must keep the head in that position at impact and after it.

2. Grip

Your hands should form a good putter for. Plus they will spread, the greater your chances of making a wrist shot. It is important not to move their wrists when you putt, if you brush the ball and make from left, we found errors in many golfers. The putt depend only arms and shoulders. Make a normal grip with three fingers of each hand on the club (thumb, little finger and third finger for the left hand, middle, ring and little finger right hand) and let the others rest. Hold pressure for 5 on a scale from 1 to 10.

3. Aim

Observe the green curves of putting yourself in the knee behind the ball and find the imaginary line that leads to the hole. Do concern too much direction of your feet, but the orientation of the face and keep your putter face square in position (so to hit flat). Put the power required to follow this imaginary line. Do not move your head if you misrepresent the perspective and putter!

4. The stroke

Your putt should be dominated by your arms and shoulders, do not interfere wrists! Minimize body movement; do not transfer weight as opposed to swing on the fairway and do not roll the hips. Stretch out well ahead after the impact to the ball parte ineffective and follow the imaginary line. Put a club or shaft under your arm to lead you to putt with your shoulders and arms only.

5. Speeding

Very good golfers have a climb and a descent club equal in distance. This allows for good acceleration and better distance control. Too many players bring their putter too far back and the brakes after the impact, the opposite also exists. Remember: you must cross the ball. Stretch your arms well in front after impact. The next time you see a clock, its pendulum watch (or imagine it at least), the exact pace you need to apply to your putt.

Fix your clubs

fix your golf clubsLearn the truth about lofts

Unless you have clubs made of softer metals (like the 303 stainless steel irons), your lofts and lies shouldn’t change through normal use. But if you’ve never had them checked, get it done just so you know exactly what you’re working with. A check of the lofts (your pro can handle it on a loft-and-lie-angle machine like this one) can help explain why you’re hitting your 4-iron the same length as your 5-iron.

Know the distance you hit each club

To hit greens, you first have to pick the right club. That means you have to know how far you hit each club—exactly how far. Spend some time on the range charting distances. Hitting 10 to 15 balls per club will give you enough information to come up with an average distance for each club. Note any unusually large or small distance gaps in your lineup. If your 6-iron flies 155 yards, your 5-iron 180, that’s too big a gap for precision iron play. Equal distance gaps throughout the set (it’s 15 yards for me; perhaps eight to 12 for you) make it easier for you to dial in those in-between distances. Remember, you have 14 clubs. Give each a specific job.

Fixed clubs for fixed distances

There are 15-yard gaps between all 11 irons, starting with 60-degree wedge (85 yards) running through to 16-degree 1-iron (235 yards). You can hit individual clubs farther than their prescribed distance ( 46-degree 9-iron can fly farther than 130 yards), but only when your swing outside your comfort zone. Swinging within yourself produces the most consistency, and with iron play, consistency’s the only thing on your mind. You can hit an 8-iron 170, but it also means hitting the green two out of 10 times—hardly accurate enough to keep you in business.

The right swing for the right distance

It’s rare to find a specific distance that exactly matches a particular club. If you are in between clubs or hitting a shot inside 100 yards, You’ll make one of two swing adjustments.

Either you’ll shorten your backswing or accelerate your rotation on the downswing. A shorter backswing automatically decreases clubhead speed and distance. Accelerating the rotation of your hips and upper body on the downswing can help you hit a shorter club a little farther, but only very accomplished players should attempt this move, because it requires excellent timing to synchronize the swinging of your arms with the turning of your body. For most players, choosing more club and making a more controlled swing is a better play.

Basic Golf Etiquette

The label golf

The label is meant a set of basic rules that inform the beginners and advanced golfers on the course to take the pleasure to meet each on a golf course. You must show consideration towards your partner at all times. Take a moment to discover what are the main rules governing golf etiquette.

The spirit of the game

Unlike many other sports, golf is played without a referee. The game relies on your integrity as a player and your discipline. The spirit of golf is respect, courtesy and honesty.

LABEL GENERAL

Try to always keep in mind the word label and stick it on the course and the clubhouse.
* Respect the dress code club
* Check the condition of your shoes and make sure they do not have nails in the soles. The nails are now forbidden in most clubs because they damage the course, especially the greens.
* Enter your starter or presence in the clubhouse before you present it on the tee number one.
* Control your temper and do not throw your clubs in no time and did not hit the ground with your club head.
* Follow the path, do not throw garbage or cigarette butts, do not spit, raise your divots … In short, leave the trail in the state where you found it.

SECURITY

* When you run a practice shot or you play your ball, make sure that nobody is endangered, or behind you or in front of you.
* Do not play until the players ahead of you are far enough
* Cry “BALL” if there is any risk that you touch someone. Be careful, you cannot always see the other players, so if your ball slices and it is featured on another fairway, shouting for security.
* Seek shelter you when there’s thunder, the rules of golf have foreseen this scenario.

RATE GAME

A game too slow affects all players in your team and the parties behind you. Make an effort to keep pace of play that will not bother anyone. If you’re too slow, here are some tips for you a little more rhythm:
* Avoid doing lots of test shots, one or two will suffice.
* Be ready to play when it’s your turn, with your glove hand for example.
* Go to your ball as soon as security permits you.
* If you want to determine the distance from your ball to the hole, do it while you walk to your ball.
* When you arrive on the green, put your bag in the place that you borrow to go on the next hole.
* Study your line of putt while others are doing it without disturbing those who will putter.
* When the hole is finished, leave the green immediately.
* Mark the scores early in the next hole and not leave the green.
* If there is a chance that your ball is lost or out of bounds, play a provisional order to avoid having to return to where you played if you do not remember.
* If a player has to find his ball, help them to save time. If you put too much time, leave the party behind you pass you.

RESPECT FOR OTHERS

* Do not move, speak or do not gesticulate while another player plays.
* On the tee, play when it’s your turn only.
* Do not stand too close when a player plays or too close to the hole when putte.
* Stay on or near the putting green until all players have finished putter.
* If you mark the card of another player, note the score after each hole and check with him. Remember all the same that is you (the marker) who have the final say in disputes over a hole.
* Do not get on the course of electronic gear that could interfere with others and are not useful (eg walkman for young ) and turn off your cell phone.

Power and control

golf4Many amateurs think that to hit the ball with power, they have to get the clubshaft at least parallel to the ground at the top of the backswing. They’re wrong. Most players would produce power and accuracy more consistently with a shorter swing.

Keep it short of parallel

When they try to get the club-shaft to the parallel position, many amateurs lift their arms and hands but have minimal shoulder turn. As a result, they bend their arms too much and let the clubhead drop weakly at the top of the swing in an attempt to reach parallel. On the downswing, they then “throw” the club at the ball with their I and arms, using little shoulder rotation. The result: a weak slid .

Try to do the oppsite: Shorten your arm swing and make a bigger shoulder turn, your left shoulder rotating behind the ball. By keeping the clubshaft short of parallel, you have the clubface on the same plane as your left forearm, which helps produce a square face at impact. The triangle formed by your arms indicates you haven’t let them collapse. This arm position is the key to a wide arc, which creates power.

Avoid getting trapped

Turned your left shoulder well behind the ball, yet your hands haven’t gotten behind your head in a mistaken attempt to get the clubshaft to parallel. your tendency from that position would be to get “trapped” on the downswing, the arms and club lagging too far behind your upper body. You want to feel like you are keeping your hands away from your head at the top of the swing. This gives you a wider arc and, in fact, a longer swing than most players who reach or go beyond parallel. It also creates more room for your arms to come through on the downswing and for me to take advantge of the speed of your body rotation.

If you’re looking for consistent power and accuracy, you too can find it short of parallel.

How to chip from tall grass

golf2Many player use this shot when the second cut of rough around the green is really thick and the ball is nestled deep in the grass, requiring a different setup and technique than you would use from a good lie.

Lift the heel to ‘toe’ the shot

Stand with your feet close together and the ball positioned off your back foot. Lift the heel of your sand wedge off the ground and close the clubface slightly. Aim a little right of your target to compensate for the hooded clubface.

Keeping your wrists firm, take the club back steeply and then hit down abruptly into the back of the ball. Here’s the key: Make contact about a ball-width in from the toe of the club. With the heel raised up, the clubhead will cut through the grass and pop the ball out. The ball will fly fairly low and have some hooking spin on it but, trust me, it will come out of the thick stuff. It’s a much safer shot than opening the blade and using a full swing to hit the high lob.

Improve your feel

When you putted using a conventional grip, always had a little hitch in your right hand, which sometime caused you to “explode” on a putt. As a result, controlling distance was often a problem.

Try putting ‘left hand low’

Putting cross-handed prevents the right hand from taking over during the stroke. The “left-hand-low” grip also effectively locks the left wrist in place, which allows the larger, more steady muscles of the arms and shoulders to control the pendulum-type motion of the stroke. Now I feel as though your hands are just holding onto the club as the shoulders and arms rock the putter back and through.

The larger muscles of the upper body are much more dependable under pressure than the small muscles of the hands and wrists. With a little practice, you’ll find that it’s easy to train your arms and shoulders to adjust the length of the stroke to the distance you want to roll the ball.

If you’re not happy with your distance control, take your hands out of the stroke with the left-hand-low grip.
